Vanilla Apple Custard Jelly

Have you tried cooking with breast milk or formula?

You can start with this sweet recipe, it’s relatively quick to make and filled with tasty and healthy ingredients.

Ingredients

1 tsp gelatine

2 tbsp boiling water

½ cup (125mL) breast milk (the preferred option), prepared infant formula or boiled water

1 tsp vanilla bean paste

140g tub apple puree (see tip)

Step by step
  • Place gelatine and water in a small jug. Using a fork, whisk until dissolved.

  • Place breast milk, prepared infant formula or boiled water, vanilla and apple in a small bowl; pour over gelatine, mixing well to combine. Divide between two, 3/4 cup (190mL) ramekins or cups. Chill until set.

    TIP:

You can use any type of fruit puree. Fruit purees can be purchased in the canned fruit section of the supermarket. They come in 140g tubs. Set jelly in smaller ramekins or moulds if baby prefers smaller portions.
